Welcome Dr Dan Edmunds to the SHJ family! Dan has recently adopted Judaism and has chosen the Hebrew name Rachamim! Read below to learn more about Dan’s decision to adopt Humanistic Judaism.
I see Humanistic Judaism as an appropriate path as I have in my work embraced a person centered approach and believe in the need for us to forge community and see our common humanity. I feel having ritual and cultural expression of common human values is important and the stories of the Jewish people provide a good context for a a sense of community and resiliency. In addition, my late godfather was a Humanistic Jew and though passed away when I was young had an important influence on me. I appreciate Jewish music, food, and culture as well.
