Society for Humanistic Judaism Supports Aid to Victims of Terrorism
Whereas the fate of the Jewish people has been inextricably bound to issues of immigration and asylum for millennia, and
Whereas Humanistic Jews affirm the values of human dignity, equality and compassion, and
Whereas Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA, formerly UJC) has earmarked philanthropic funds to aid all Israeli citizens harmed by terrorism, and
Whereas certain groups have criticized the JFNA for including Arab citizens as potential recipients of such dollars,
Therefore it is resolved that the Society for Humanistic Judaism declares its full support for JFNA’s policy of nondiscriminatory allocation of funds to the victims of terrorism.
