The information from the list is taken from congregational newsletters, websites, and social media. All events are happening in the month of June 2022. For online events, please check with the congregation to see if events are open to members only or if they are open to the public at large. All dates and times listed below are based on local time zones, so if attending remotely, please double-check the time.
Movement-wide Organizations
IISHJ (International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism) has many of the videos from April’s SHJ Annual Gathering and IISHJ graduation and ordinations now online. Click here.
JFASD (Jews for a Secular Democracy) will be hosting a panel discussion featuring rabbis from the Reform, Modern Orthodox, and Conservative movements who will be discussing “Judaism and the Separation of Church and State” on Thursday, June 2 at 7 pm EDT. Watch online here.

CO, Boulder – Beth Ami, Colorado Congregation for Humanistic Judaism is hosting a table at this year’s Boulder Jewish Festival on Sunday, June 12 from 11 a.m.-5 pm.
CT, Fairfield County – Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, Fairfield County is discussing the book Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro via zoom on June 11 at 10 a.m.
DC, Washington – Machar, The Washington Congregation for Secular Humanistic Judaism will have several opportunities for members to engage in social action work in their community this month.
FL, Boca Raton – Congregation Beth Adam, South Florida Center for Humanistic Judaism will be hosting an in-person community Shabbat celebration at the South County Civic Center in Del Ray Beach, on Friday, June 17 from 6-8 pm.
IL, Deerfield – Kol Hadash Humanistic Congregation is planning a LGBTQ+Pride Shabbat service to happen in-person on Friday, June 24 at 7:30 pm.
MA, Boston – Kahal B’raira, Congregation for Humanistic Judaism will be celebrating Pride month with a Picnic on Sunday, June 5 from 1-2 pm.
MD, Baltimore – Baltimore Jewish Cultural Chavurah is hosting Rabbi Sivan Malkin Maas to speak on the topic of “Secular Judaism in America” via zoom on Sunday, June 12, 10:30 a.m.
MI, Detroit – Congregation for Humanistic Judaism of Metro Detroit is co-hosting, along with Jews for a Secular Democracy, Michigan, a panel discussion with rabbis from the Conservative, Orthodox, and Reform movements on the topic “Judaism and the Separation of Church & State” on Thursday, June 2 at 7 pm. MN, Minneapolis – Or Emet, Minnesota Congregation for Humanistic Judaism is holding its annual meeting from followed by a picnic on Sunday, June 5.
NC, Asheville – Jewish Secular Community of Asheville is holding its annual meeting and social brunch on June 12th at 10 a.m.
NY, New York – The City Congregation for Humanistic Judaism is providing a wide-range of zoom-based adult education offerings over the summer including Reading Biblical stories through Humanist eyes, Talmud for Secular Jews, and an Introduction to Judaism class.
NY, Westchester County – Westchester Community for Humanistic Judaism will be having a special in-person Shavuot service on Saturday, June 4th at 2 p.m.
Canada, Toronto – Oraynu Congregation will be guided by Alexandra Horsky on a 2-hour Guided Forest Walk, also known as “forest bathing,” on Sunday, June 12th from 9-11 a.m.
Online (EST-based) The Spinoza Havurah * will be hosting a special Shavuot Study session via zoom on Sunday, June 5 from 10-11 am EDT.
