SOCIETY FOR HUMANISTIC JUDAISM CONDEMNS THE ASA BOYCOTT OF ISRAELI ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS
As Humanistic Jews, we call for understanding of, and respect for, the aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians.
As Humanistic Jews, we strongly support the free exchange of ideas, and oppose limitations on academic freedom.
As Humanistic Jews, we believe that the American Studies Association’s boycott of Israeli academic institutions violates academic freedom and singles out one party for discriminatory condemnation.
Therefore, be it resolved that:
The Society for Humanistic Judaism applauds the many university presidents, scholars, political leaders, and national and international organizations that have opposed the boycott and hereby adds its voice to theirs.
