As members of a tradition that sees every child as having inherent worth and dignity, we respond with anguish and outrage at bullying taking place in our schools nationwide, which in some cases has resulted in students tragically committing suicide.
We hereby commit to ending bullying, intimidation, or harassment of any kind in our schools and communities.
While we deplore any and all kinds of bullying, intimidation, and harassment, we especially note and condemn bullying motivated out of disability, handicap, physical attribute, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, cultural expression or ethnic background.
We, the Society for Humanistic Judaism, encourage students, parents, teachers and administrators to be proactive in ensuring that each and every child in our community is treated with dignity and respect.
