Cantor Diane Rose has beautifully reimagined Sherwin Wine’s Ayfo Oree.
Diane Rose is the founder and spiritual leader of Cool Shul in Santa Monica, California. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education from New York University, a Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting from California State University, Los Angeles, and has ordinations as a Cantor through the American Seminary for Contemporary Judaism, and as a Rabbi through Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute. Diane returned to seminary to deepen her Jewish knowledge at the Academy for Jewish Religion – CA, and is nearly finished with a Masters of Jewish Studies degree with a focus in Music in Jewish Life. While Diane has always been alternative and universal in her Jewish thinking and teaching, she has recently decided to become part of the Society for Humanistic Judaism and is looking forward to studying toward ordination as a Jewish Humanistic Rabbi. She is the wife of a musician and the mother of two kiddos, ages 21 and 16.
Ayfo Oree (Where is My Light?)
Where is my light? My light is in me.
Where is my hope? My hope is in me.
Where is my strength? My strength is in me.
And in you.
